2004-2010 Toyota 4Runner front seat Squeak noise

Some clients may experience Squeak noise due to contact between a track, and search for a contact? ½ Pan hole (s) location. The following procedure describes the repair method to fix this condition. 1. disconnect the negative battery terminal (-). 2. remove the plastic cover over the front seat track, use a plastic pry tool carefully remove the claws and the plastic seat cover track. Note see. Appropriate Toyota repair manual for each model for detailed instructions on how to remove the plastic cover of the seat track. 4. remove the LH front seat. A. Move the seatback fully upright position. B. removing four (4) track mounting bolts. C. disconnect electrical connectors and remove the complete seat. 5. remove the seat track, search for contacts. A. seat from the vehicle to tilt the seat back have access to contacts of the locking of the seat track. B. using powerful means of production cut two (2) search for contacts, leaving 2 mm (0.1 inches) or less from each PIN. • Note do not allow production tool contact place of the track. JUST cut off the shaft PIN (near the base of the track). • Place the track, find contacts function is to facilitate the installation during the manufacturing process and does not provide any other functions. Figure 5 ... 6. clean and paint the bare metal surfaces. A. remove any metal shavings from the track/place seat. B. Clean bare metal surface for the remainder of the track of the locking pin seats with wax, grease and silicone for deletion. C. to prevent corrosion, coat all bare metal surfaces, continues to place the track paint brush type. 7. install the Assembly LH front seat. A. place the cabin? 1029. b. Connect all electrical connectors under the seat. C. set all four (4) track, keeping the bolts (? ngertight). D. tighten two (2) front seat track, attaching bolts. Notice the bolt torque speci? cation, depending on the model. Repair manual for correct bolt torque for the model that you are working on. E. strengthening of two (2) rear seat track attachment screws. Notice the bolt torque speci? cation, depending on the model. Repair manual for correct bolt torque for the model that you are working on. F. re-install all cover plastic seat track. 8. Repeat steps 1-6 for RH seat. 9. connect the negative battery terminal (-). 10. Test the power and seat heater (if present) in order to work properly. 11. Initialize front seat occupant classi? cation system and initialize any other power system. See the applicable model and model year repair manual initialization procedures. 12. inspect the SRS warning light operation. 13. Test drive the car and con? rm that Squeak was eliminated. Download
