2000-2008 Jaguar S-Type (X 200) unable to reduce climate control outlet temperature – diagnostic Procedure

CONDITION summary: Situation: the outlet temperature of the climate control system may not be reduced from the driver or the passenger face and side openings; also, there may be an extreme difference between the driver and passenger sides. This problem can be caused by an error in the Dual coolant control valve (DCCV) or dual automatic temperature control (DATC) or causes an electrical circuit. Action: In case of a customer care of the above, refer to the diagnostic Procedure below to help determine whether the error is the electrical or mechanical. DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE 1. Verify a/c compressor operation, refrigerant charge level, and system privileges and grounds. 2. Start the engine. 3. using the dual automatic temperature control (DATC), select: ' high temperature ' x ' high ' fan speed x ' x ' and ' PANEL ' modes 4 RECIRC. Allow vehicle sit for five minutes. 5. using the DATC, select: x ' LOW ' temperature 6. Allow vehicle sit for five minutes. 7. using a suitable temperature gauge, record the exhaust temperature of both the driver and passenger distribution vents. Recorded temperatures should be 7qC (45qF). 8. If the recorded temperatures are within of each other, 6qC (10qF? is the climate control system is functioning normally and no extra diagnosis is necessary. 9. If one of the recorded temperatures greater than 45qF or greater than the difference between the recorded temperatures (6qC 10qF?, the diagnostic Procedure continue. 10. connect motor.Download
