1998 Cadillac Deville ignition lock cylinder removal & installation

CAUTION When performing the service components of the system of additional restrictions on inflatable (SIR) or wiring, Sir, the system must be disabled. Failure to do so can result in deployment of a possible air, bodily injury or unnecessary Sir system repairs. Catera 1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. 2. remove the steering wheel. 3. remove the restrictions on inflatable wheel module coil. 4. Insert a small pointed Shilo or wire pinhole release cylinder ignition lock. 5. remove the ignition lock cylinder. Figure. Insert the tool indicated in the release PIN hole for installation: 6. install cylinder. 1. look in hole that gets the cylinder on the side of the lower RH to find the locking lever. 2. gently push the locking lever, using a small flat bladed tool until a click sound is heard. 3. Place the cylinder in an empty hole. 7. install the module coil restrictions inflatable wheel. Install the steering wheel. Deville, Fleetwood, Eldorado and Seville 1. Disable System Sir as follows: 1. disconnect the negative battery cable. 2. turn off the ignition. 3. Remove Sir fuse. In 1990 Deville and Fleetwood, remove Sir fuse No. 3 from the fuse. 1991-93 Deville and Fleetwood, remove Sir fuse No. 18 from the fuse. 1990-91 Eldorado and Seville, remove Sir fuse No. 19 of the fuse. 1992-93 Eldorado and Seville, remove all fuse Sir from the engine compartment fuse Panel. 4. at the Deville and Fleetwood, remove the bottom left sound insulator. Eldorado and Seville remove sound insulator on the left. 5. remove the connector position assurance (CPA) and disconnect the yellow 2-pin connector on the steering column.
