1999 Buick Century DTC P0341 camshaft position (CMP) Sensor performance

During cranking, check the ignition Control Module (ICM) the 7 X crankshaft position sensor signal. Once the ICM spark synchronization determines, 3 X reference signals sent to the PCM. The PCM will command all six injectors ON priming for a shot of fuel in all cylinders. After the priming are the injectors OFF for the next six fuel control reference signals (two crankshaft revolutions). As each cylinder a chance to use of the fuel of the priming shot. During this waiting period, will be a cam pulse are received by the PCM. The PCM uses the Cam signal pulses sequential fuel injection. The PCM constantly monitors the number of pulses on the Cam signal circuit and compares the number of Cam pulses to the number of 24 X reference pulses and the number of 3 X reference pulses are received. If the PCM an incorrect number of pulses on the Cam reference circuit set and the PCM receives, DTC will P0341 injector order without the Cam signal with a chance of one in six injector that order is true will start. The engine will continue to boot normally and, although the detection of misfire diagnostic will be affected if a misfire condition occurs. Conditions for the execution of the DTC the engine is running (3 X reference pulses are received).
