Alfa Romeo 156 brake replacement Guide

In 1998, the procedure below was written for a 2.0, Twinspark with ventilated discs front however, should the same for all 156 models. The shape of the pads differ between ventilation and solid discs at the front. Later models have larger rear discs and therefore different rubbers. It should not matter if we speak standard brakes with normal or drilled/grooved discs with high speed road pads - the process is the same. The only difference is that some requirements have the wear indicator front, so you have to back the cable ties out of the way when not needed.
I have this written in the order, that I replaced my brakes. This was first of all, the fronts then the rear wheels do and finally to bleed the system entirely to change the fluid. Keep in mind that your new brakes must be in "Bed". This means the brakes use hard for about 100 miles or the recommendations with the pads supplied. High performance brake pads often need a special method. Also in the new pads on old CDs bed could take a bit longer as they need to "wear" the old CD form fit. As in all important work like this take time as you wish, then function properly. Its no use realize you forgot to do something, like you the brakes... for the first time taken.
