DESCRIPTION
Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) consists of speed sensors (on both front rotors and in rear axle), an Electronic Control Unit (ECU) (under left side of instrument panel), and a hydraulic modulator (in engine compartment). See Fig. 1. The hydraulic modulator consists of front and rear pressure control solenoids and relays, a return motor pump and relay, and an ECU connector. Modulator pressure control solenoids are mounted inside hydraulic modulator and are not individually serviceable. Replace modulator assembly if solenoids are defective.

General Motors has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in some of the 2002-2003, model year, Cadillac Deville and Seville cars equipped with V8 (4.6 l) engine (L37/LD8), Oldsmobile Aurora V8 engined vehicles (4.0 l) engine (L47) and Pontiac Bonneville SSEi vehicles. Fuel tank pressure sensors in these vehicles is unusually sensitive to malfunction. If the sensor fails, excessive vacuum can be applied to the fuel tank during the self-test. Fuel system components can be damaged and fuel can leak from a vehicle, where it refueled. Possible symptoms of this disease are the smell of fuel from the fuel tank area, inaccurate fuel gauge readings and poor controllability. If there is an ignition source, can cause a fire.

Some of the above vehicles may exhibit an engine knock noise that begins in the first 19,000-24,000 km (12,000-15,000 mi) of use. The knock noise is most often noticed during initial start- up and typically disappears within the first 5-30 seconds (may last longer in extreme cold temperatures). The noise is usually more noticeable on the initial start-up when the temperature is below 10°C (50°F) and may be more pronounced on the first cold start following a long trip. 1. The filter is located behind the glove compartment. Unscrew the 2 screws at the bottom of the glove box cover to loosen the it. Remove glove box and set it aside.
2. Cut the plastic cover along the dotted lines shown and remove it. Dispose off plastic cover, it is no longer needed. This exposes the metal cross bar under it. Locate and remove 2 additional bolts securing bar. Remove and set it aside.
3. The filter access door is now accessible. Pull on the top and bottom tabs to release door. Remove door and set it aside.

3. Grab onto handle and slide out old filter. Replace with new TYC filter, ensuring that Air Flow arrow is pointing to the driver’s side.
4. Reinstall in reverse order.

This will also space out the entire wheel, widening the track width of the vehicle. Fender clearances should be checked on lowered cars, and longer lug studs or wheel bolts are usually required. Removal
1. Relieve the fuel pressure in the system by loosening the banjo bolt on the top of the fuel filter. Disconnect the fuel line from the fuel rail. It is a good idea to replace the washers. Disconnect the fuel harness holder and unbolt. Disconnect the hoses from the fuel pressure regulator (FPR).
2. Disconnect intake hose/pipe from throttle body. Disconnect all hoses leading to the throttle body and intake manifold. Disconnect throttle cable bracket on manifold and throttle cable from throttle body. Disconnect the cables to the the throttle position sensor (TPS) and the map sensor on the throttle body.

What is the SmartMAP??
The SmartMAP? model SS-300 replaces the check valve and restrictor assembly used by most Honda/Acura turbo and supercharger kits and prevents the engine computer (ECU) from shutting down the engine when the manifold pressure is above atmospheric (boost).

How does the SmartMAP? work?
The SmartMAP? connects inline with the stock (OEM) manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor and limits the MAP voltage that is applied to the ECU. The limit (clamp) voltage value is preset and can not be adjusted.

Before servicing propeller, be sure the engine is in neutral with ignition off or disconnected to avoid any possibility of the engine starting and causing injury. Most 18” wheels will clear the outer diameter of the caliper on a 355mm kit. However, the more critical clearance is the gap between the spokes of the wheel and the face of the caliper. Do not assume that a 19”, 20” or even 24” wheel will clear the face of the caliper. The actual metal-to-metal distance measured from the stock rotor face to the inside of the wheel spokes is 62.25mm for the BMW X5 front kit. StopTech recommends at least 2mm of additional clearance. Most 17” wheels will clear the outer diameter of the caliper for a 328mm or 332mm rotor kit. • Place the bike on the center stand and remove the current shock absorber.
• Place the Hyperpro shock in the bike, type 461 with reservoir as shown in the picture. If your shock is equipped with the optional hydraulic preload adjuster place the banjo bolt of the HPA to the right side of the bike.
• Use the two added clamps and rubber blocks to mount the reservoir on the sub frame.

How to determine what kind of brake calipers and ABS system is equipped. During the development of the cruise control for the R1150GS we have been aware, that it two different types of front caliper and two different ABS systems to this model, and some bikes without ABS equipped. To provide the correct Kit for the bike, we need to know what type of front brake calipers has your bike, and the ABS system (if available) the machine has. This is easy to identify by you the instructions below. Identify the front brake calipers. Earlier models were equipped with Brembo brake calipers.

The RotorQ system is shipped with default settings that are in compliance with Daimler-Chrysler’s specifications. Most of the settings in the software should not need to be changed. Changing any of the settings that are not described below will likely make the system and it’s test results non-compliant. Special Instructions for Air Connections
1. To cut the tubing correctly an appropriate cutter must be used (not a scissors)
2. When inserting the tubing into the connection it must be pushed in approximately 14mm until a click is heard.
3. To remove the tube, push the flange on the connection and at the same time pull the tube. (No tool is necessary.)
4. ATTENTION, when a tube is removed it is important to trim 14mm from the end before reconnection.
5. IT is advisable that LOCKTITE be used on the threaded fittings.

This is what we’re starting with; a bone stock engine bay. The first step is to disconnect the negative battery cable. This will help to prevent any potential electrical problems, and also will “reset” the PCM so that the computer will be able to “re-learn” the engine with the new intake in place. To disconnect the battery cable, you will need a 10mm socket or wrench. (Note that this may erase your radio station presets, so you might want to write them down first, just in case.)

Disconnect the temperature sensor located at the back of the flexible coupling. To do this, you need to slide the red lock back, then you can squeeze the black lever at the back and unplug the connector.
